Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2nd 2026

Hello Pages (“Hello Pages”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Hello Pages. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect it, what we do with it, and how you can access or correct it.

This policy applies to hellopages.com.au and any related services.

By using our website, creating an account, or claiming a listing, you’re agreeing to the handling of your information as described here.

1. What information we collect

What we collect depends on how you interact with Hello Pages.

Business listings we’ve added ourselves
Hello Pages runs on a list-first model – we manually add businesses to the directory using publicly available information before anyone claims the page. For an unclaimed listing, this is limited to business name, address, phone number, website and category. This information comes from public sources such as business websites, public directories, Google, Bing, and similar.

If you create an account or claim a listing
Name, Email address, Password (stored encrypted, we never see it in plain text).
Any business details you choose to add – description, opening hours, photos, logo, social media links.
Payment and billing details (see section 4)

If you leave a review
Your name or display name
The content of your review
Your email address, used to verify the review isn’t spam – it isn’t published

If you contact us
Your name, email address, and the content of your message
Collected automatically when you use the site
IP address, browser type, and device information
Pages visited, search terms, and general location (suburb-level, inferred from your IP address)
Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see section 6)

2. How we collect it

  • From public sources, when we first create a listing
  • Directly from you, when you create an account, claim a listing, leave a review, or contact us
  • Automatically, through your use of the website
  • From our service providers, for example, Stripe confirms when a payment has succeeded

3. Why we collect and use it

We use personal information to:

  • Operate and maintain the directory
  • Review and approve (or reject) listing claims
  • Process payments and manage your plan
  • Respond to enquiries and provide support
  • Send service-related emails (verification, approval, receipts, account notices)
  • Improve the website and how search and listings work
  • Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and misuse
  • Meet our legal and regulatory obligations

We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use your details for third-party marketing without your consent.

4. Payment information

Paid plans are processed through GetPaid, our website’s checkout and invoicing system, using Stripe as the payment gateway.

We do not see or store your full card details on our servers. When you check out, your card details are entered directly into Stripe’s secure payment form and sent to Stripe. Stripe is a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. If you choose to save a card for future payments, that card is tokenised and stored by Stripe, not by us or by GetPaid – our site only holds a reference token, not the card number.

What we do hold (via GetPaid, on our own servers) is transaction and invoice-level information: the plan purchased, amount paid, date, and invoice details for your records and for tax purposes.

5. Who we share information with

We share personal information with:

  • Stripe, to process payments and manage saved cards and subscriptions
  • GetPaid, our website’s built-in invoicing and checkout system, which handles order and invoice records
  • Diskman Dot Net, hosts the website and the data on it
  • CPanel, sends account, verification, and transactional emails
  • Mapping services (e.g. Google Maps)**, used by our directory software to show listing locations, where applicable
  • Law enforcement or regulators, where we’re required to by law
  • Professional advisers such as our accountant or lawyer, where reasonably necessary

We don’t share personal information with other businesses for their own marketing.

6. Cookies

Our website uses cookies for things like:

  • Keeping you logged in
  • Remembering search and map preferences
  • Understanding how the site is used, so we can improve it

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site, like staying logged in or using the map search, may not work properly without them.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers are based, or store data, outside Australia. Stripe processes payments through infrastructure located in the United States and other countries. Our hosting or email providers may also store data overseas, depending on which we use.

Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it’s handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, but we can’t always control or guarantee how an overseas recipient will handle it.

8. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the personal information we hold, including encrypted passwords, secure hosting, and not storing card details ourselves. No website can guarantee complete security, so we can’t promise information will never be accessed without authorisation, but we take it seriously and will notify affected individuals and the OAIC if we’re required to under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

9. How long we keep information

We keep account and listing information for as long as the account or listing is active, and for a reasonable period after that in case it’s needed for legal, accounting, or dispute purposes. Unclaimed listing data (name, address, phone, category) is kept for as long as it’s relevant to the directory. You can ask us to review or delete information at any time – see section 11.

10. Access, correction, and complaints

You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time by emailing support@hellopages.com.au

If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled your personal information, you can lodge a complaint with us first. If you’re still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at [oaic.gov.au](https://www.oaic.gov.au).

11. If your business has an unclaimed listing

If we’ve listed your business and you haven’t claimed it yet, and you think the details are wrong or you’d rather it wasn’t listed, use the **Report this listing** link on the page or contact us at support@hellopages.com.au. We’ll correct or remove it on request.

12. Children’s privacy

Hello Pages isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

13. Links to other sites

Our listings link out to business websites, and businesses may link to their own social media. We’re not responsible for the privacy practices of any site outside hellopages.com.au.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Continuing to use Hello Pages after an update means you accept the changes.
